Shirley Arlene Niederer

Shirley Arlene Niederer, age 79, of Brainerd, passed away on Nov. 3, 2012, at her home surrounded by her children. Shirley was born in Cass County near Jenkins to David & Nannie (Holmquist) Mykkanen, on July 28, 1933. She married Dan Niederer on Jan. 19, 1952. Shirley loved her family, going out to lunch with family and friends, her dogs, preparing big meals for family functions, sewing, flowers and gardening.
Shirley will be deeply missed by children; Diana Manko of St. Peter, Danny of Brainerd, Cindy Helstrom of Brainerd, and David (Julie) of New Hope, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Marylou Ruff.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Dan in 2009 and her son-in-law; Timothy Manko; brothers, Kenneth, Clifford & David; sister, Beverly.
Funeral Services for Shirley will be at 12 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at The Church on Wise Road in Brainerd. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Center Township.
