ELKTON, Fla. — Patricia “Pat” Ann Groesbeck (Drenner), age 70, of Elkton, Fla., passed away peacefully on Oct. 12, 2012, at Bailey Family Center for Caring surrounded by her family. She was born and grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Elvera Drenner. She was a graduate of the Nursing School at Allen College/Iowa Health System. She went on to receive a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. For many years she worked as a registered nurse in the Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at United Hospital in St. Paul. Beyond her work she volunteered her time in battered women’s shelters and crisis hotlines, and worked as a school nurse for a short time. She had recently moved to Elkton, Fla., from Brainerd, Minn. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Melvin “Monty” Groesbeck, of Elkton, Fla.; daughters, Kayla Lofgren and husband, Jamie, of St. Augustine, Fla., Connie Faulkner and husband, Edmund, of Lenoir City, Tenn.; a brother, Duane Drenner and wife, Sharon; and a sister, Kathi Marsh and husband, Ken, all of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and grandchildren, Lindsay Ann Warren, of Prince George, Va., Spencer and Carissa Lofgren, of St. Augustine, Fla. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Drenner.
Private services will be held at a later date.
