Thomas Rohr, age 64, resident of Brainerd, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at St. Cloud Hospital. He was born on Feb. 26, 1948 in Brainerd to the late Evelyn and John Rohr. He was united in marriage to Mary Ackerman on Sept. 6, 1967 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pine River. He worked in television, radio and newspaper sales. Thomas also worked as the director of public relations at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 10 years. He owned the “Sweet and Salty Shop” and “Pop-a-Corn’s”.
He will be remembered as a lifelong musician and band leader. Most recently Thomas co-owned Intercept Corp. with Jeff Lashyro. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, founding member of #3 of LOE, Music Ministry at Area Catholic Churches and St. Andrew’s Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Daniel and Virginia, and their children, Isaac and Nicholas Rohr; David and Julianne, and their children, Alexander, Elizabeth and Emily Rohr; Scott and Marny, and their children, Morgan, Devan and Madaline Rohr; Teresa Rohr and her son, Gabriel; Stephanie (Rohr) and Loren, and their children, Evelyn, Matthias and “new baby” Heinze; Matthew and Bethany, and their children, Graedon, Owen Maeve and Anne Rohr.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Tony Wroblewski officiating. Visitation will begin the hour before services at the church.
