Dorothy C. Connelly

Dorothy C. Connelly, age 87, seasonal resident of Horseshoe Lake, Mission Township, Minn., for the past 36 years, died Monday evening, Aug. 27, 2012, in Brainerd, Minn.

Mrs. Connelly was born March 6, 1925, in Chicago to Charles E. and Philomena (Bercher) Straub.

Her memberships include Immaculate Heart Church in Crosslake, MN, Council of Catholic Women (CCW), Mission Township Fire Department Auxiliary, and Mission Possible Seniors Group.

Surviving are son, John (Kathleen) Connelly; daughters, Kathleen Krauss and Lynn Connelly; grandchildren, Meghan, James, Bryan and Christopher Connelly and Eric (Cassie), Greg, and Keith Stadler; two great-grandchildren, Bryanna and Rebecca; sister, Phyllis Kiener.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James P. Connelly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Immaculate Heart Church, 35208 County Road 37, Crosslake, Minn., with Father Ryan Moravitz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Ill. Visitation will be the hour before the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Heart Church or Good Samaritan Hospice.
