Mabel Wiedewitsch, age 85, passed peacefully on Aug. 24, 2012, at her home with family by her side. Mabel was born April 11, 1927, in Midale, Saskatchewan, to Robert and Sophie Sinclair. She was married on Nov. 12, 1945, to Albert Wiedewitsch. She is survived by her daughter, Violet McKenney; and grandchildren, Sean McKenney, Peggy Jensen, Penny Shoemaker, Kari Raasch, Dena Lindquist, Brie Thrugstad; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wiedewitsch; daughters, Darlene DeBusk and Irene Wing; and many brother and sisters.
Mabel worked at the garment factory, St. Joseph’s Hospital as a nurse’s aid, Bethany Good Samaritan and also did laundry for kids’ camps in the summer.
Mabel loved learning the Bible and going to church. In her spare time she loved gardening, canning and baking which she would share with family, friends and those in need. She also liked teaching children how to play the guitar, keyboard and singing. She hunted and fished with her family. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob Twiton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
