Anna Nyreen Schuety, age 79, of Brainerd, died at home under hospice care on Aug. 23, 2012.
Anna was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Fort Ripley, Minn., to Gilbert and Edna (Frasel) Nelson. She married Eugene Schuety on Dec. 25, 1948. They had seven children.
Anna was employed as a cook at the Crow Wing County Jail for 15 years as well as area restaurants; she also provided daycare and served as a housekeeper at Paul Bunyan Motel.
Anna had a hobby of collecting cookie jars. She was best known for her caramel rolls. She loved her children, grandchildren and many children she cared for through the years.
Anna is survived by her children, Shelley Young, Kim (Milton) Johnston and Todd Schuety, all of Brainerd; sisters, Barb (Louise) Lippert and Mardella (Delsey) Goedker, both of Brainerd; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene in 2006; three sons, Jeffrey, David and Robert; daughter, Vicki Schuety; and sisters, Dorothy Barker and Jane Nelson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Harvey Peterson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Crow Wing Township.
