Marty Griffith

PINE RIVER — Marty Griffith, age 53, of Pine River, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at his home. He was born to Edward and Teresa Griffith on June 20, 1959, in Minneapolis. Marty married Julie Shetka on Sept. 26, 1987, in Anoka, and would have celebrated their 25th anniversary this year. He was a cabinet maker by trade, owning and operating Griffith Woodworking. Marty was a member of the Ideal Fire Department and served as supervisor for Timothy Township. He was quite a social butterfly who enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

Marty is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Nick (Kayla), Troy (Melanie), and Maggie; parents, Edward and Teresa; granddaughter, Avery; sister, Jayne Griffith; and father-in-law, Ron Shetka.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, at Crosslake Lutheran Church with Pastor Marlys Korman officiating, followed by committal service at Swanburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
