STAPLES — Richard Alfred Peterson, born July 29, 1928, in Anoka, Minn., to Alfred and Eva Peterson.
Dick grew up and graduated from Anoka High School in 1946. Moved to the Leader area with his parents in 1947.
Dick met Phyllis and they were married in 1953. Dick was drafted into the Army in 1954,
Dick and Phyllis bought their farm in 1957 and farmed until 2006 when Dick retired and they moved to Wadena, Minn. Dick and Phyllis then moved to the Lakewood Manor in Staples in 2010 where Dick lived until he died Aug. 15, 2012.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one grandchild. Visiation Thursday, Aug. 23, 5-7:30 p.m. and services Friday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Lincoln Evangelical Free Church.
