Dorothy L. Olson

Dorothy Leona Olson, age 88, of Brainerd, died July 29, 2012, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village.

Dorothy was born April 3, 1924, in Brainerd to William and Almerinda (Pint) Groshong. She married Martin Olson on April 3, 1941, in Brainerd.

Dorothy is survived by children, Jerry (Reenie), of Brainerd, Deb Miller, of Brainerd, Shirley (Jack) Berry, of Ironton, Brenda Johnson, of Brainerd, Marty (Teresa), of Brainerd, Bernadine (Todd) Pahl, of Brainerd, and Gary (Laura), of Brainerd; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Clyde, Ray (Dee), Bernard (Louise); son Arnold’s wife, Shirley Olson; daughter Leona’s husband, Harvey Mudgett; sister-in-law, Hazel Zauhar; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin; sons, Arnold, Bill and Dennis; daughters, Leona Mudgett and Betty Olson; grandson, Trevor Olson; daughter Deb’s husband, Jim Miller; sister, Clara Indehar; brothers, Larry and Merwood Groshong; and sisters-in-law, Alice Groshong and Sally Groshong.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Baxter. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one-hour prior to services at the church.
