AITKIN — Mabel Mary Sandahl, 97, of Aitkin, died July 17, 2012, at Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin. She was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Gourley Township, Mich., to Arthur Joseph and Annie Katherine (Rode) Berger. Mabel was united in marriage to Walter Gustaf Sandahl on June 22, 1935, in Robbinsdale. She enjoyed square dancing and sewing. She was a long time member of Elim Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale and a 60-year member of the Eastern Star No. 238 in Robbinsdale. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1996; three brothers, Florian, Raymond, and Clarence Berger; and her parents.
Mabel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Donald Myhre, of Aitkin; grandchildren, Donelle and Ed Bebault, Denise Bosak, Dawn Smeby; great-grandchildren, Anne Bebault, April Bebault, Anthony Bosak, Lana Bosak; great-great-granddaughter, Svea Bebault; brothers, Howard Berger, of Wilson, Mich., and Ralph Berger, of Carney, Mich.; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, memorial service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55419 (763) 533-8643. The Rev. Glen Floe will officiate. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
