SAUK RAPIDS — Florella Inez Workman passed away on July 6, 2012, in Sauk Rapids, Minn., at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born May 10, 1914, to Rekarda and Adolph Mathison in Ortonville, Minn. She lived there until she was 15, and then moved to Brainerd, Minn., with her parents in 1929. She married Sam Workman on Sept. 16, 1935; they lived in Fergus Falls, Minn., for two years, then came back to Brainerd and lived there until June 1, 2011. She moved to the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids, Minn., after falling and breaking her hip; she lived there until the time of her peaceful departure to the Lord.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Bible Study Group for 20 years. She was past President of the Degree of Honor Lodge No. 46 and a member of the Merrifield Marathon Club.
She is survived by two sons, Clayton (Esther) Workman and Carlos “Corky” (Sandy) Workman; five grandchildren; four great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandsons and two stepgreat-granddaughters.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Workman; her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
There will be a viewing at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd on Friday, July 13, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church in Brainerd with Pastor Rev. Dr. Ed Morgan and Pastor Gary Peterson officiating. Visitation will also be held at church the hour before service on Saturday.
