Gene Oehrlein

Gene Oehrlein, age 61, resident of Brainerd, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
He was born in Brainerd on Feb. 6, 1951, to Edward and Helen (Dam) Oehrlein. Gene completed Army basic training in 1969 at Ft. Ord and served in the National Guard. He raised dogs and enjoyed working with horses. He worked at the Novak Equine Center.
Surviving are his son Ry; his wife Lorelee; and grandson Sawyer Oehrlein of Brainerd.
His is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dennis and Darrel and sister Lois.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10 at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with Chaplain Al Klasky officiating. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Benton County Cemetery in Sauk Rapids, Minn.
