UPPER SOUTH LONG LAKE — Mildred Gladys Ripley, age 92, of Upper South Long Lake, died May 29, 2012, at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Millie was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Rolling Forks Township to John and Gina (Aslakson) Jacobson. Millie married Douglas Ripley on Sept. 5, 1942, at Camp Roberts, Calif.
Millie was a homemaker and loved being a wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma.
Millie is survived by her children, Susan (Drew) Furuness, of Shererville, Ind., Doug (Gail), of Brainerd, John (Carol), of Sunrise, Fla., and Elaine (Thomas) Inman, of Burnsville, Minn.; siblings, Gerhard (Ann) Jacobson, of Hamilton, Va., Dale (Marge) Jacobson, of Donna, Texas, and Connie McQuillan, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; parents; brothers, Erling, Gordon, Arnold, Ralph, John and Andrew; sisters, Thelma, Edith and Eleanor.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior. Private internment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, Minn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethel Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund.
