Dr. Edwin J. Olson

BAXTER — Dr. Edwin J. Olson, 94, resident of Baxter, previously of Minneapolis, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on Jan. 6, 1918, in Minneapolis to the late Jacob and Hanna Olson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1944. He was united in marriage to Antje Anderson on May 28, 1977. Military honors will be provided by the Brainerd VFW Post 1647 Color Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Antje Olson; daughter, Kathy Cohn and her children, Kara and Brian; step daughters, Jean Totzke, Shelley Pinck, Robin Pinck and partner, Stephanie Leckband, Karla (Shawn) O’Brien and Tina Anderson; six grandchildren Justin (Amanda) O’Brien, Shawna (Joseph) Reed, Antje Anderson, Jesse Monson, Wyatt Theis and Noah Anderson; and one great grandchild, Collin Reed.

He is preceded in death by his parents and step-daughter, Belinda Pinck-Doerr.

Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society – Bethany Chapel in Brainerd with the Rev. Russell Kalenberg officiating. Visitation will be held a half hour before services.
