CROSBY — Gordon Hubert Nanik, age 82, of Crosby, died on May 15, 2012, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on Sept. 27, 1929, in Crosby to Jacob and Ruth (Dahlvang) Nanik.
Gordon married Antoinette Margaret Deblock on Sept. 25, 1954, in Crosby. He was a Korean War Marine Corp Veteran. In 1954 they moved from Crosby to San Diego, retiring to Show Low, Ariz., in 1989 and then returned to Crosby in 2006. He was a life member of the VFW Post No. 3787 in San Diego and American Legion Post No. 86 in Overgaard, Ariz.
Survivors include in wife, Antoinette; three sisters, Dorothy Magdich, of San Diego, Shirley (Donald) Bobich, of Aurora, Ohio, and Geraldine (Bruce) Bestul, of Victorville, Calif.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and his cousin, Clifford Smith.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Military honors will be given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post No. 443, Ironton. Friends may call on Monday at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
