Clifford W. Bock, 88, resident of Brainerd, passed away May 16, 2012, at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Brainerd. Cliff was born on Oct. 12, 1923, to Leon and Esther Mulholland Bock. He married Jean M. Kennedy on Jan. 28, 1947, and they celebrated their 65th anniversary this year.
Cliff was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater, then retired as a sergeant major from Camp Ripley. He also was an accomplished upholsterer for Brainerd and the surrounding area, a member of the American Legion, the Color Guard, a Past Commander, and Safety Director for Reichert Bus Service.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; and his children, Margaret and Bruce Loney, Steven and Donna (Grinnell) Bock, Theresa and David Steele, Thomas Bock, Connie and Brian Frisch, Cynthia and Jeff Konich, Nancy and Rob Runquist; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vera and Rex Mason, Leona and Russell Mason
Preceded in death by his parents and his five brothers Lester, Laurence, Vernon, Delbert, and Patrick.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with visitation Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and a visitation one hour before services at the church. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Military honors by the Brainerd V.F.W. Post 1647.
