Delores Parker, age 78, resident of Brainerd, Minn., passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Woodland.
Delores was born on Nov. 9, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., to Alonzo and Sarah (Ligon) Jackson.
Delores was a homemaker and a mother who raised eight children. She traveled many states and abroad with her military husband. She enjoyed playing bingo, loved cards and working puzzle books. She loved Luther Vandross and Dinah Washington. She was affectionately nicknamed Baby, Pearl or Spud.
Survivors include her children Bradley H. Parker, Chicago, Errington M. Parker and Doryette A. Parker, both of Brainerd, Hazel A. Parker, Carmen A. Parker, Camion A. Parker, George C. Parker Jr. II, Lamard A. Parker, all of Chicago; her sister, Debra Ligon Wilkerson; brothers, Alfred Ligon and Stanley Ligon; a host of 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Sarah (Ligon) Jackson; her husband, George C. Parker Jr.; sister, Demetrice Harper; grandchild, Lamoro Anthony Parker Jr.; great-grandson, Emeron Herell.
Delores, you are greatly loved and you will be equally missed but never forgotten.
Services were held at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago.
