GARRISON — Cleo Bernadine Litz, age 96, of Garrison/Brainerd, Minn., passed on into our memories April 29, 2012. Cleo was born Oct. 29, 1915, to Almond and Winifred (Bradley) Hinds. She married Leon (Curly) Litz and they had two children, Winnie and Susie.
Cleo and her husband Curly, owned and operated Seguchie Lodge on Mille Lacs Lake, Garrison, Minn., in its heyday. Here they created a precious, ephemeral world and left behind the nostalgia of a now bygone resort era. Countless stories of laughter, music, pranks, fishing conquests and homemade wine are shared and cherished by customers, friends and their loving family.
Cleo is survived by her children, Winnie (John) DesJardins, of Henderson, Nev., and Susan Simon, of Excelsior, Minn.; grandchildren, Bill (Tina) DesJardins, Robert (Shannon) DesJardins, Kathleen “Gingie” Anderson (Andrew Doroschak), Colleen Hallada and Christine (Liam) Ayers; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curly; her parents; sister, Maxine Griffin; as well as grandsons, Greg and James DesJardins.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
We love you, we miss you, and we thank you. For it must be said, there is truly a little bit of you in every single one of us!
