Donald A. Inwards, 70, Brainerd, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Good Samaritan Village-Bethany. Private interment with military honors will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Holte. There will be gathering at the American Legion in Brainerd and family will start receiving friends from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
Donald was born May 27, 1941, in Crow Wing County, the son of Walter and Margaret (Kruger) Inwards. Following his graduation from Brainerd High School, Donald enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. On Sept. 2, 1967, he was united in marriage to Dianne Lyscio. The couple moved about early in their lives, living in Wisconsin and Utah before returning to Brainerd. Donald worked as a dispatcher and jailor for Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department for 23 years. He enjoyed golf, sports and spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be missed by his wife, Dianne; son, Travis (Daniell) Inwards, of Little Falls; sisters, Marlis (Michael) Gordon; brother, Ronald (Cheri) Inwards; and grandchildren, Amanda, Dylan, Ashlyn and Thomas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
