CROSBY — Elwood Burton “Son” Huntley, age 98, of Crosby, died March 17, 2012, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on Nov. 14, 1913, in Crosby. He married Phern Wood on Sept. 12, 1940, in Crosby. Son was employed with 50 years of service to Evergreen Mining, M.A. Hanna Mining and Lytle and Green Mining in Alaska, Zontelli Brothers and then Pittsburgh Pacific. Son was also a former bus driver for the Riverton School District.
Survivors include two sons, Joel (Mary) Huntley and Tom (Mary Jo) Huntley, all of Crosby; one daughter, Joan (Enno) Limvere, of Crosslake; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Phern; three brothers, Vernon, Robert and Jack Huntley; and four sisters, Georgia Johnson, Helen McGuirk, Lorraine Bowman and Betty Sipper.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Thursday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
