AVON LAKE, Ohio — Stephen O. Koski, 69, of Avon Lake, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at his residence following a one month illness.
Born June 10, 1942, in Crosby, Minn., to the late William and Mary (nee Saari) Koski, he moved to Lorain in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961.
Stephen worked for Ford Motor Company at the Lorain plant and retired from the Avon Lake plant in 2006 after 43 years of service.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 2000, the Knights of St. John, the Moose Lodge and the Masons.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, riding his motorcycle, boating, fishing and swimming.
Surviving is his son, Jeff (Gwen), Avon Lake; daughters, Cathy (Kenneth) Kirkman, Staley, N.C., and Cindy Cogar, Avon Lake; 10 grandchildren and twin great-granddaughters on their way; a sister, Kathy (Lee) Futhey, Aitkin. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife, Judi (nee Bodnar) Koski in 2002; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Shirley Rose.
