Beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and dear friend passed away on Feb. 23, 2012, in Brainerd at the age of 48 after battling lung cancer. Sue was a loving and devoted mother to Kevin Stiller Jr. and Samantha Hoheisel, both of Brainerd, and step mother to Graham Hoheisel of St. Cloud. Sue was the daughter of Elmer Pella of Garrison and Luella Carleton of St. Cloud; sister to Lynda Pella of Garrison, Kathi (Tate) Tetrick of Pierz, Michelle (Adam) Kiheri of Maplewood, Jenny (Warne) Pella, and Danny Pella, both of Garrison. Sue was the niece to Eileen Pella and Ava Virnig. Do to Sue having a loving heart and caring nature, she was an aunt, great aunt, and super auntie to so many she will be greatly missed.

Sue grew up in Hillman, Minn. and graduated from Onamia High School in 1981 and was married to Tim Crotty and divorced years later. Her adventurous spirit, sense of humor, and ability to charm everyone in the room proved to be the tools she needed to get any job she put her mind to throughout her life. She spent many years in a relationship with Kevin Stiller Sr. during which time they had their son Kevin Stiller Jr. Sue married Jeff Hoheisel and during this union they had their daughter Samantha Hoheisel and divorced years later. Sue moved to Brainerd and purchased her own home where she resided until the time of her death.

Sue was surrounded by her close friends and family during her courageous battle. The family would like to thank; Eileen Pella, Jeff Hoheisel, Janice and Kevin Stiller Sr., Andrea Bollum, Jill Pella, Doreen McCann, Sue Struthers, and Frannie Lenarz. Also a very special thank you to Nurse Joy. Sue’s family wishes to thank the exceptional nurses at Heartland Hospice Care and the doctor’s and nurses at Brainerd Hospital. The gentle care shown to Sue will never be forgotten.

Sue is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her brother Michael Pella, her uncle Allen Sims, and Aunt LaVerne (Sims) Schmaltz.

A celebration of her life will be held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 16691 371st Ave. Hillman, MN 56338 on March 3, 2012, with 11 a.m. visitation and 12 noon mass.
