Lucille M. Strus

Lucille M. Strus, 75, of Brainerd, died on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at her home. Services for Lucille will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter at 2 p.m. with Father George Zeck officiating. Reception to follow in the Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Brenny Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m.
Lucille was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Long Prairie, Minn., the daughter of Jacob and Marie (Nemchek) Vollmer. After high school, Lucille became a homemaker and raised four children. She was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Nisswa.
Lucille will be missed by her husband, Gary Strus; children, Lane (Ann) Kastonek, of Sauk Centre, David (Carol) Kastonek, of Eagan, Robin (Lynn) Kastonek, of Corcoran, and Terry (Heidi) Strus, of Nisswa; four grandchildren; and siblings, Ken (Cora) Vollmer, of Cottage Grove, Wilma Peplinski, of Blaine, Ruth (Dutch) Elbers, of Roseville, and Janice Riermann, of Marine on St. Croix. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, David; brothers, Russell and Ronald; sister, Marlene Ostrowski; and brother-in-law, Jay Peplinski.
