BAXTER — The celebration of life Mass for Harold Louis Moll, 94, Baxter, Minn., will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 8, which would have been Harold’s 95th birthday, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Lisbon, N.D., with burial in Lisbon, N.D. He was called to his heavenly home after bravely battling cancer on Jan. 27, 2012.
Harold was born Feb. 8, 1917, to Albert and Leona Moll in Barnesville, Minn., where he grew up and graduated from high school. He served with the ND National Guard and served in the U.S. Army as 1st Lt. during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He married his one and only Mary Ann Albertson Sept. 8, 1946, in Barnesville, Minn. He enjoyed serving the people of Lisbon, N.D., as owner of Moll’s Super Value for 33 years, retiring in 1981. Harold was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW and Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed being a member of the Lisbon, N.D., and Brainerd, Minn., Sports Boosters Club.
He and MaryAnn felt fortunate to have 31 years of retirement making many happy memories at Lake Lizzie, Minn., Mille Lacs Lake, Garrison, Minn., Sarasota, Fla., and Baxter, Minn. Being a former athlete himself, Harold treasured being able to follow his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their many activities. Other favorite pastimes included traveling, camping, fishing, hunting, playing cards, eating out and socializing with his many friends and relatives.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Ann; and four daughters, June Stroh (Curt), Princeton, Minn., Deb Winkels (Ted), Staples, Minn., Gayle Frosaker (Clyde), Virginia, Minn., and Kim Huether, Baxter, Minn., and Jim Huether, Baxter, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by infant son, Ronald Lawrence; grandson, Craig Winkels; his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
