Richard W. “Rich” Brace, age 56, Brainerd resident, died suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, while on his over-the-road truck route in South Dakota. Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and tinkering on the farm. Rich married Diane Sowl on Aug. 31, 1985, in Minneapolis.
His nieces and nephews were very special to him. He could fix almost anything and he will always be remembered for his hearty laugh.
Surviving are: his wife Diane; mother Alice Brace; brother Robert (Margaret) Brace; sisters Linda (Mark) Johnson and Lisa (Dave) Najmon; nephews Dan Johnson, Brandon (Mia) Brace, Aaron Packer, and Jason Packer; nieces Shara Brace, Danielle Morrissette, and Amanda and Nicole Najmon; great-nephews Michael and Antonio Morrissette; aunt Marie Johnson; mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Stanley Sowl; sister-in-law Linda (Kevin) Packer.
He was preceded in death by his father Wallace, his sister Laura and his brother Mark.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with visitation the hour before the service. The Rev. Mr. Roger Marks will officiate.
