DEERWOOD — Wilbur L. Lueck, 89, of Deerwood, died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Aicota Health Care in Aitkin, Minn. Funeral services for Wilbur will be held on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Iron Hub, Minn., with Pastor Dean Stolz officiating. Visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Lunch will follow services. Private family interment.
Wilbur was born on Dec. 23, 1922, in Pequot Lakes, Minn., to August and Louise (Knupple) Lueck. He lived in the Deerwood area his entire life. Wilbur was a veteran of World War II. He met and married Lois Ann Grulke on Nov. 14, 1948, in Aitkin, Minn. Wilbur worked as an iron miner and a heavy equipment operator. He also worked for Scorpian Company of Crosby, Minn., and Northern Timber of Aitkin, Minn. He was active in Laborers for Christ Organization.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Lois; children, Lee (George) Fredrickson, of South Haven, Minn., Debbie (George) Cermak, of Little Falls, Minn., Kathy (Charlie) Keogh, of Colorado, and Daniel (Lucy) Lueck, of Deerwood, Minn.; sisters, Mavis (Jim) Hulshizer and Marlene Hennick; and many grandchildren and great-granchildren. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, August and Louise; and two brothers, Virgil and Leslie.
Memorials are preferred to Laborers for Christ or Lutheran Island Camp. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
