Kathleen M. Zelinske, age 91, of Brainerd, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at Essentia Health’s St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born July 27, 1920, in Pine Island, Minn., to Walter and Minnie (Odeen) Andrist. Kathleen married Gaylord Zelinske in Mantorville, Minn., on Nov. 28, 1939. They moved to Brainerd following their marriage.
Kathleen was a long time member of First Lutheran Church. She was an American Legion Auxiliary past president and member, and an over 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Alpha Chapter.
She had been employed for many years by Time Jewelry and later Lundborg’s Jewelry.
Surviving are her sons Ken (Judy) of Brainerd and Craig (Georg) of Manchester, New Hampshire; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and seven great great-grandchildren; her sister Dorothy Knedel of Mankato. Preceding her in death are her husband Gay in 2008 and great-granddaughter Stephanie Zelinske.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Kristin Oltmann officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and continue the hour before services at the church Wednesday.
Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church.
