Ann Catherine (Grgurich) Freeman, age 96, died peacefully at her home in Brainerd on Dec. 25, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was born July 23, 1915, in Crosby-Ironton.
She lived her married life in Brainerd. During Mom’s life, there were many qualities that were present throughout – her never-ending love of family, children, friends and people. She never knew a stranger. Ann was a lifelong member of St. Francis Church and the Women’s Guild. She had a strong faith and belief in the power of prayer, and loved all kinds of music and growing flowers. Ann was an avid bridge player and she possessed great creativity and strength of will. She was a happy person who touched and enriched so many lives.
She was preceded in death by parents John and Catherine (Ratchke) Grgurich; husband Eino Freeman; brothers, sisters and their spouses John (Esther) Grgurich, Jim Grgurich, Elsie (Al) Gertz, Sophie (Clarence) Pinski; grandson Milon P. George and great-grandson Michael Petersen.
She is survived by her children Bob (Bev) Freeman of Webb Lake, Wis., Pat (Milon) George of Columbia, Mo., John (Mary) Freeman of Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren Kris (John) Petersen, Janell (Tad) Osborne, Katie Freeman, Mike (Liane) George, and Joe Frye;
great-grandchildren Matt and Anna Petersen, Kiyta Freeman-George, Ian and Brianna Osborne and Gabriel Freeman; sister-in-law Vern Grgurich and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held during the summer of 2012 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be sent to St. Francis Church, 1108 Willow Street, Brainerd, MN 56401.
