Esther DeRosier Orme, age 97, of Brainerd, went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011. Esther married Philip DeRosier in 1935; they lived their life farming south of Brainerd on the Mississippi River. Their life together was filled with hard work then fun dancing, cards, raising crops and six girls.
After the death of her husband, Philip, in 1955, she and her children moved into town. In later years she married James Orme; together they enjoyed cards, traveling and family. Esther was an active member of the St. Mathias and St. Francis Catholic guilds; she worked many years in the school cafeterias. In 1993 she moved into Woodland Apartments and later to the Care Center.
Esther will be remembered for her steadfast faith, dedication to family, joy in cooking and baking for others. Her life of hard work and sacrifice are an example for all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Don) Poissant, Pat (Fred) Kaune, Mary (Larry) Svir, Emma (Doug) Moline and Ginger DeRosier; stepdaughters, Pricilla Erickson and Nancy (Jim) Crampton; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will never forget her love and goodness.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Philip DeRosier; husband, James Orme; and her first daughter, Betty Stegora.
