Gertie A. Shogren

Gertie Amanda Shogren, born May 18, 1917, and died Oct. 7, 2011. 

Born in Lismore, Minn., to Anton and Thea Theien. Married John P. Shogren Sept. 15 ,1936.

She is preceded in death by her husband John; parents Thea (Benson) and Anton Theien; brothers Alvin Theien, Oscar Theien, Edward Theien; sister Milda Shogren; grandson Steven Shogren; and daughter-in-law Donna Shogren.

Gertie is survived by her brother John Theien; sister Marcella Tripp; five sons, John (Virginia), Carl (Arlene), Donald (Cindy), Oscar (Laura) and David; daughter Dianne (Eldred) Warren; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Gertie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Oak Street Chapel, 523 11th St. S., Brainerd. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m.. at the church. Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
