ISANTI — Richard Waltz, age 52, of Isanti died August 24, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
Richard Leo Waltz was born Sept. 29, 1958, in Brainerd to Andrew and Marjorie (Kuhlman) Waltz. He was raised in Brainerd and graduated from Brainerd High School, the Class of 1976. Richard attended Anoka Technical College and earned a degree in mechanical design. He married Julie Dehn on April 14, 2011, and they have made their home in rural Isanti.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three siblings, Kenneth Waltz, sister Mary Ann Waltz and David Waltz. Richard is survived by his wife Julie of Isanti; two daughters Tabitha (Seth) Sanborn of Plymouth, and Alicia (Travis) Johnson of Crystal; five grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters Robert (Dee) Waltz of California, Darrel (Harriet) Waltz of Minneapolis, Clifford (Kathy) Waltz of Brainerd, Gregory (Jerrie) Waltz of Washington, Adrienne (Dick) Cahoon of Brainerd, Rita (Jerry) Sauk of Elk River, Ronald (Sue) Waltz of Cannon Falls, and Marlene (Jeff) Fanton of Coon Rapids; sister-in-law, Lucy (Larry) Waltz of Elk River; and by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at Long Lake Lutheran Church in rural Isanti with Rev. Matt Flom officiating. Harriet Waltz is the soloist and Kristy Anderson will be the organist. The pallbearers will be Tanya Insley, Shaun, Bryce and Chad Waltz, Andy Sauk and Mike Wienhold. Interment was in Long Lake Community Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Strike Funeral Home, Isanti Chapel.
