Lloyd Chester Collins, 92, of Brainerd, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village. He was born March 4, 1919, in Page, N.D., to Frank and Harriet (Parker) Collins. He was married to Dorothy (Carlson) Collins for 65 years.
Lloyd graduated from NDSU and served in the Army. He was a manager at Nels Vogel Music Store in Moorhead and was organist at Olivet Lutheran Church for over 45 years. Lloyd enjoyed playing the mighty Wurlitzer organ at the Fargo Theater. His hobbies included photography, camping and trains.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Patti (Jim) Anderson, of Brainerd; Debbie (Mel) Henry, of Bloomington, and Larry (Kathy) Collins, of Morrison, Colo.; grandchildren, Bob (Amy) Houghton, Bill (Jen) Houghton, Heather Collins, and Chris Collins; and four great-grandchildren.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Lloyd will be Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
