Chester Walberg Jr.

PINE RIVER — Chester Walberg Jr., age 87, of Pine River, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011. He was born March 5, 1924, to Chester and Edith Walberg. Chester was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a Minneapolis fireman for 30 years.

He is survived by his children, Kathryn Ann Riemer, Steve Walberg (Vicki), Janet Rogers, Charles Walberg (Connie); 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; daughter, JoEllen Joyce; brothers, Roland and Warren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at First Lutheran Church, Pine River, with Pastor John Monson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be noon on Wednesday, June 29, at Royalton Memorial Cemetery, Pine County, Minn. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
