Everall A. Huff

Everall A. Huff, age 97, of Brainerd, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011, at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Services will be at a later date in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Cedar Rapids.

Everall A. Huff was born on March 6, 1914, in DesMoines, Iowa, the son of Francis A, and Violet L. (Heidt) Huff. He graduated from high school in Iowa. After his schooling he met and married Maureen McDonnell on March 3, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The couple was able to share 60 years of marriage before she passed away. They moved to the Brainerd lakes area in 1950. They purchased and operated the Bar Harbor Resort until 1960. After selling the resort he was the department manager of Montgomery Ward appliance center for 22 years. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, a member of the Moose Lodge, Kiwanis, Lions Club, Brainerd Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of the Senior Center and a representative on the Minnesota Council of Aging. He was also a charter member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Brainerd. Among the things he enjoyed were hunting, fishing, and outdoor sports, but the light of his life was his family.

He was preceded in death by parents, Francis and Violet; his wife, Maureen; three sisters, Florence, Marion and Maxine. Everall will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Terrence (Terrie) Huff, David Huff, Stephen (Linda) Huff, Fred (JoAnn) Huff, Marcia Ann (Mark) Koefod; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Conwell and Barbara Payne.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home activity fund.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
