Janice Rae Wennberg

Janice Rae (Hedlund) Wennberg, born November 27, 1940, in Thief River Falls, MN, died peacefully at her home on North Long Lake March 27, 2011. She is survived by her husband Jon of 52 years; daughters Julie Wennberg of Santa Monica, CA, Joni (Mark) Lauffenburger of Plymouth, MN, and Kelly (Dan) Beinhorn of Brookings, SD; grandchildren Nathan and Joseph Lauffenburger and Gretta, Klara, and Koen Beinhorn. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur (1991) and Retta (1974) Myers Hedlund, and her brother, Ronald Hedlund (2008).

Jan graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN, in 1958. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, antiquing, and traveling. Everywhere she went she made friends who, along with family, rewarded her with enjoyment, love, and support throughout her life. Jan was a fun and reliable friend, and her family will always remember her ability to be there — in so many ways and so many times. She was adored and appreciated by Jon and their daughters. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, 11 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, Nisswa, MN, with the Rev. Glenn Taibl officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Lutheran Church of the Cross Chancel Fund or Bethany Good Samaritan Hospice Program.
