WALKER — Barbara M. Francisco died March 21, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Walker, Minn. She was born on Sept. 5, 1922, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of George A. Youngs and Neva (Wine) Youngs. She is survived by her husband, Noel Francisco, of Backus; a brother, George A. Youngs Jr., of Moorhead, Minn.; a son, Lee Francisco, of Superior, Wis.; and adopted son, Philip Francisco, of Portage, Wis.; granddaughters, Mollee Heinle, of Chaska, Minn., Nikkee Francisco, of Superior, Wis., Emily Gedde and Jackie Briggs, of International Falls, Minn., and Marcia Stanton, of Backus, Minn.; and one great-granddaughter, Rena Gedde, of International Falls, Minn. Barbara, her husband, and family developed lake property on Ponto Lake starting in 1956 and made their permanent home there commencing in June 1991. She attended Drake University and was a graduate of Iowa Methodist Hospital school of nursing. She was a beloved member of the Brainerd Friends Meeting. She and her husband experienced over 62 years of a remarkable, dedicated and exceptional marriage. She was committed to the care and creation of a loving and supportive environment for her children. Truly she was blessed with an “abundant life” in the very best use of that expression.
