WILTON — Raymond “Ray” Edward Blowers, 61, of Wilton, Minn., formerly of Leader, Minn., died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, Minn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 13 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji, Minn.
He was born Jan. 4, 1950, in Waseca, Minn., the son of Robert and Elvira (Evert) Blowers. He was raised and educated in Waseca. He served with the U.S. Army, the 7th Battalion, 13th Artillery in Vietnam from 1969-1971 as a specialist in weaponry and was a sharp shooter. He moved to Leader, Minn., in 1974 where he was a farmer and rancher. He moved to Bemidji in 2005. He loved his bees and cattle and doing everything organically. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, planting and being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Blowers, Melonie Blowers; mother, Elvira B. Blowers; brothers, Robert (Diane) Blowers, Richard (Debbie) Blowers; sisters, JoAnne (Dennis) Harlow, Jacki (Tim) Bouska, Julie (Tim) Jensen; four grandchildren, Haleyrose J. Blowers, Dominic Patterson, Donavin Blowers, Devin Blowers; life partner since the moment they met, Helena Gerhardson; Helena’s daughter, Lara Gerhardson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Jean Blowers; father, Robert W. Blowers; and brother, Ronald W. Blowers.
