WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Marie Belva Anderson-Nyman, former resident of Brainerd, Fergus Falls, Park Rapids and Warner Robins, Ga., born Feb. 17, 1921, and died Feb. 23, 2011, in Warner Robins at age 90. A memorial service is planned for June in Brainerd with burial in Lake Edward Cemetery.
Daughter of Clark Anderson (d 1935) and Belva Bailey (d 1942) of Brainerd.
Married H.O. Hanson in 1940 to which five children were born and one son residing in Merrifield, D.O. Hanson. Other children include Patricia Maxwell (Apple Valley), Paulette Law (Edina), Steven Hanson (Eagan) and Lt. Col. Kenneth Hanson (Warner Robins AFB). One sister, Phyllis Kjos, in Granite Falls. Another sister, Sharon Svoboda (Spicer), died in 1990.
Marie’s interests were diverse including her church, piano music, genealogy, birds, flowers, gardening, cooking and swimming.
Surviving local cousins include Florence Congden, Wallace Anderson, Doris Brusseau and Jule Borg.
Preceded in death by two husbands, Howard Hanson (Echo) and Ellwyn Nyman (Fergus Falls); one grandson, Derrick Hanson (Merrifield); and many local cousins. Marie had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials preferred to Northland Arboretum and YMCA.
