GARRISON — Charles Tuma, age 62, 14 year resident of Garrison, Minn., went home to be with his Savior on March 7, 2011. He was joined in marriage to Janet (Ness) Tuma on June 7, 1996.
Charles had full military honors from serving his country in the Vietnam War and served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Janet Tuma; children, Chuck-CJ (Tiffany) Tuma, Mandi Colsen (David Hansen), Scott Papesh, Kevin Papesh, Robin Weidner (Marty Weidner) and Nick Loechler; sisters, Judy (Junior) Strohmeyer and “Cherry” Lewis; and brother, Butch (Patty) Tuma. Also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; last but not least the “eternal lunker” he was always after.
Charles was proceeded in death by infant brother, Douglas John Tuma; sister, Lenette “Nette” Delzer; father, Leonard Tuma; mother, Elnora Ruhr; brother, Greg Tuma; finally, many unlucky fish.
Services will be 1 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Camp Ripley Chapel in Camp Ripley with Pastor Chris Hill officiating. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors provided by Minnesota Volunteers Color Guard. Visitation will be held the hour services at the chapel.
