BLOOMINGTON — The Rev. Lloyd W. Franke, age 89, of Bloomington, died Feb. 25, 2011, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Arthur, N.D.; son of Max Herman Franke and Lizzie Fresonke; pastor of Atonement Lutheran Church, Bloomington, 1957-1985. Preceded in death by wife of 59 years, Lucille. Survived by children, Karla Nistler (Bob), Joanne Carol Franke Forrest (John), Craig (Deborah); grandchildren Julie Loftus (Tim), Mark Nistler, Sarah and Joel Forrest, Mikayla Franke; great-grandchildren Jack and Max Loftus. The world will miss this wise, kind, gracious and loving man; a great conversationalist; a voracious reader with a breadth of interests. He touched the hearts of all who met him. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 4 at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S., Richfield. Service is Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Normandale Lutheran, 6100 Normandale Rd./Hwy. 100.
