Gloria J. Hales

Gloria Jean Hales, age 85, of Bay Lake, died on Feb. 3, 2011, at Mille Lacs Nursing Home in Onamia.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1925, in St. Paul to Forrest and Aimee (Veal) Kinston.

Gloria was the head cook at Clearwater Forest Presbyterian Camp. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Deerwood and was the kitchen coordinator for many years.

She was a former member of the Bay Lake Area Lioness Club.

Survivors include two sons, Don (Debra Flam) Hales, of Deerwood, and John “Jack” (Shawn) Hales, of Onamia; two daughters-in-law, Sue Hales, of Elk River, and Carol Pundt, of Deerwood; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, John “Jack,” son, Richard “Dick” Hales; and one grandson, Mathew Hales.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Bay Lake Township Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
