Gary Zontelli, 69, went home peacefully to be with the Lord Jan. 13, 2011, in Belle Plaine, Minn., after a historic fight with MS. Gary was born in Crosby, Minn., on April 26, 1941. He was preceded in death by father, Jack; and mother, Clara; sister, Jacci Segner; aunt, Anne Stang; nephew, Devan Baker; nieces, Cindy McCharles and Tracy Zontelli. Gary is survived by his former wife, Sharon Dechaine; daughter, Gina Zontelli; son, Michael Zontelli (wife Laura); grandchildren, Anne Zontelli and Zack Zontelli; brothers, Boyd Zontelli and Dave Zontelli (wife Marcia). Gary will be remembered for his loving nature, sense of humor and his unflinching commitment to chase his dreams. He was a business owner, inventor, gold miner and champion trick water skier. He was a wonderful father and the world’s best grandpa! He taught us so much in his courageous battle with MS. He will be missed and his carefree spirit will always live on. Please come and celebrate Gary’s life at an open house from noon to 3 p.m. on Feb. 12 at Excelsior United Methodist church, 881 Third Ave, Excelsior, Minn.
