SUN CITY, Ariz. — Elaine Mildred Olson, 94, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Brainerd, Minn., passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 29, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Elaine was born Feb. 18, 1916, to Ray and Clara (Stickle) Cook in Fort Ripley, Minn. She married Elmer C. Olson in 1938.
Elaine worked at J.C. Penney’s as a seamstress and in the drapery department. She served the Lord faithfully as a member of the women’s ministries at the Assembly of God church doing sewing and quilting.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Helen Rasmussen-Tomazitis (Joe), of Sun City, Ariz.; and son, Lewis (Beva), of Baxter, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Connie Hahn; four brothers; and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 28, 2011, at the Heritage Assembly of God church with Pastor Mark Boone officiating.
