GARRISON — David L. Tibbetts, of Garrison, passed away unexpectedly at his home Jan. 23, 2011. David was born Aug. 8, 1938, in Aitkin to George and Josephine (Seavey) Tibbetts. He married Kathleen Benjamin on Feb. 4, 1967, in Garrison. David served his country in the U.S. Army as a private. David was a member of the Garrison Fire Department for many years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy, of Garrison; sons, Shane (Wendy), of Brainerd, Shawn (Cindy), of Brainerd, Wade, of Crosby, Troy, of Crosby, Reed Erickson, of Crosby; daughters, Renee Tibbetts, of Brainerd, Bobbie Jo (Dave) Tibbetts, of Garrison, Julie Erickson, of Crosby; brothers, Al (Betty) Tibbetts, of Aitkin, Larry (Pat) Tibbetts, of Mounds View; sisters, Judy Lamser, of Albany, and JoAnn Tibbetts, of Hawaii; grandchildren, Stormie (Cameron) Tibbetts, Ashley Tibbetts, Tyler Peyerl, Dalton Tibbetts, Alex Tibbetts, Michael Tibbetts, Dustin Frick, Kaitlyn Tibbetts and Megan Frick; and one great-granddaughter, Isabella Alder.
David is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Leah Tibbetts; son, Jace Tibbetts; brother, Georgie Tibbetts; and sister, Jeannette Tibbetts.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Community Alliance Church of Garrison. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Burial will be at Garrison Community Cemetery in Garrison.
