LAKESHORE — Wayne Milo Cole, 85, of Lakeshore, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at his son’s home in Pequot Lakes, Minn. Wayne was born May 31, 1925, to Lloyd and Pearl (Johnson) Cole in Homebrook Township, Cass County, Minnesota.
Wayne served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He married Gladys Curry in Bloomington on March 5, 1947.
He is survived by Vivian Ore Cole of Monticello; sons Terrance of Farmington, N.M., Daryle (Carol) of Brooklyn Center, John (Mandy) of Motley, and Darwin (Mary) of Pequot Lakes; daughter Paulette (Robert) Benson of Brooklyn Park; sisters Marlys Mabbott of Marriette, Ohio and Delaine Hawkinson of Wickenburg, Ariz.; and brother Rodney (Jean) of Tenstrike; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Gladys; and infant daughters Coleen and Colette.
Services for Wayne will be Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Community Church in rural Pequot Lakes, Minn., with Pastor Stan Meyers officiating. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pequot Lakes. Lunch will be served following the service.
