BAXTER - Micheal J. Clarine, age 60, resident of Baxter, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at his home.
Micheal J. Clarine, son of John (Jack) and Lorraine (Mack) Clarine, was born on Sept. 24, 1950, in Brainerd, Minn., where he has resided his whole life. He was married on Nov. 22, 1969, to Patricia Jensen and was a wonderful, loving husband for 41 years.
He served our country in the early 1970's in the Vietnam War, being stationed in Long Binh. He returned home and began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He also had careers in sales, most recently working for EcoWater Systems in Brainerd for the past 19-plus years. He was an active member of both the American Legion Post No. 255 and the VFW Post No. 1647 in Brainerd.
Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and cherished his time spent with all. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved to fish, hunt deer, ducks, geese, and pheasant. He has successfully passed along these traditions to his son and grandsons, who will continue to carry on that legacy. He also volunteered to coach his son's youth football and baseball teams, and continued to loyally support his son and grandsons numerous sporting activities.
He is survived by his beloved wife; daughter Heather and her husband Kurt Wicklund of East Gull Lake; son, Kevin and his wife Heidi (Rogge) Clarine of Baxter; brother, Tim and his wife Lori (Anderson) Clarine of Brainerd; grandchildren Kyle, Hunter, and Konnor Wicklund; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 424 S. 8th St., Brainerd. Visitation times will be Tuesday, Jan. 4 from 4-7 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and one hour prior to service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Warrior Way to help support local youth athletics.
