BAXTER — Signe M. Rinde, 83, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living Facility in Baxter, surrounded by her family.
Signe was born in Crosby, Minn., to John and Mary Forside on May 13, 1927. She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1945. She married Everett (Speed) Rinde on June 13, 1947, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby, where she is still a member. They were married 58 years and were blessed with four children, Judi, John, Paul and Mike. Signe was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a kind-hearted woman who cared for her family with old fashioned values. She enjoyed preparing family dinners and baking homemade bread and desserts. She loved all types of music and played piano expertly by ear. She taught Sunday school classes and played piano at the Immanuel Lutheran Sunday School in Ironton. She volunteered at her church in many capacities and at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ole Forside; and her husband, Everett. Survivors include children, Judi (Don) Hendrickson, of Brainerd, John (Connie) Rinde, of Crosby, Paul (Pat) Rinde, of Ironton, and Mike (Shawn Blessum) Rinde, of Eagan; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gertrude (Lalla) Block, of Baxter, and Elsie (Ed) Taleen, of St. Paul.
Memorial services will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Crosby on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at 2 p.m. followed by a luncheon. Visitation with the family will be one hour before the service.
