FOLEY — Benjamin Kothman, age 94, of Foley, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Talahi Care Center, St. Cloud.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, Foley. The Rev. Allen Jergenson and the Rev. Jeff Loewen will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Prayers services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.

Benjamin Kothman was born Nov. 29, 1916, in Foley, Minn., to William and Isabelle (Milton) Kothman. He married Hazel Forschen May 4, 1938, at Maywood Mission Covenant Church, Foley and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2000. He later married Norma Chevalier and she also preceded him in death. Ben lived and farmed his entire life in Maywood Township, Benton Co. He also worked for Offet Potato Co., in Becker and Benton County Co-op Telephone Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening and dancing. Ben especially enjoyed helping others. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his sons and daughters, Beverly (Dennis) Cielinski, Brainerd, Helen (Floyd) Albright, Renton, Wash., Earl (Linda), St. Cloud, Barb (Dennis) Kennedy, Garland, Texas, Marlys Pekarek, Little Falls, Sheila (Larry Helmin) Kothman, Elk River, Brent (Mara), Foley; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his, son, Bruce; and daughter, Marilyn Kothman; brothers and sister, Bill, Milton and Kathryn Malikowski.
