GARRISON — Arlyn Cash, age 71, of Garrison, Minn., passed away on Dec. 11, 2010, surrounded by his family. He served his country in the Air Force for five years. Arlyn was married on July 13, 1963, to JoAnn Benjamin at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison, Minn. He owned and operated his own business for 25 years in Garrison and also was a mail carrier for 10 years until his retirement. Arlyn was the Mayor of Garrison for 20 years, a volunteer fire fighter for 28 years , and the last living charter member of the Garrison Lions Club. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, JoAnn; three sons, Arlyn Jr. (Arlene), Randy, and Matthew (Kelly); three grandchildren, Christopher, Kelsey Jo and Jade; siblings, William (Jeanine) Cash and Rosemarie Holmquist. Arlyn was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Glen “Butch” Cash. Special thank you to his doctors and the Dialysis Team in Brainerd for the care they gave him during his long illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 299 Red Oak Drive in Garrison, Minn. Friends may visit Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd and one hour prior to Mass at church. Burial will be at the Garrison Community Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
