NISSWA - Edward "Eddie" A. Zurek, age 91, of Nisswa, formerly of West St. Paul, passed away peacefully on Dec. 3, 2010, following a brief illness. Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, Ed loved woodworking, drawing, playing pool and spending time with his family and friends at his cabin on Gladstone Lake. He proudly served with the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps in Europe during WWII. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; and sister, Jean. Survived by daughter, Therese "Terri" (Jim) Jasper; son, Frank "Butch;" grandchildren, Mark Seidl, Charlie (Cheryl) Seidl, Mollie (John) Miller and Wil Zurek; great-grandchildren, Blake, Brady and Tristan Seidl, Emma and Jack Miller and Madeline Zurek; sister-in-law, Emma Stadtfeld; brother-in-law, Frank Petranton; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Church of St. Joseph, 1154 Seminole Ave. at Butler, West St. Paul with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred. Arrangements are with West Funeral Home, 1051 South Robert St. at Arion, West St. Paul.
